Path Issues and Path Maintenance

Bad news:  we have now cleared all of the paths that we were aware of needing

attention following the recent storms - if you are aware of any others,

either fallen trees or overgrown, please let us know at:

PathTeam@wellingtonwalkersarewelcome.org.uk ,

We hold 2 path maintenance events a month.

These are advertised on the events page.

If you wish to join our path maintenance group please contact the group organiser

beforehand on PathTeam@wellingtonwalkersarewelcome.org.uk. He will send you

the necessary registration form to enable you to join the

Telford and Wrekin Council Volunteer Scheme.

Please use the same email to let us know of paths that need attention.

We will try to get permission to clear any local paths reported to us.

The path team were busy again on 5th March clearing fallen trees on The Ercall

In Telford & Wrekin you can  report blocked and obstructed paths and missing signposts on the Council's website using  'report a rights of way' problem. You can also report footpath problems as you walk around with photos on a mobile phone by downloading The Everyday Telford App.

We are  the proud possessors of a brush cutter. There are some photos of the results of its recent uses here.

Things have  definitely got  better on our paths since we were formed in 2010. There are more signs , more walkable paths clearances and, crucially, more walkers.

Paths we have cleared include these:

  • Paths in Wellington itself

    • Alongside the railway line from Mill  Lane and the other way towards Leegomery

    • The path from Christine Avenue to the motorway bridge on Ercall Lane

    • The path behind Roseway

    • The Wrekin Link  from Admaston to Powder Lane

    • The path from the Dawley Rd through the top end of Arleston Village to Arleston Lane

    • Woodlands Avenue to Hollies Road

  • Slightly further afield

    • Allscott

    • Wrockwardine

    • Rushmoor

    • Bratton

  • Parts of longer routes passing through Wellington

If you wish to talk to us about other footpath related matters please contact our path secretary on paths@wellingtonwalkersarewelcome.org.uk.
