About The Event

A 'Walk and Talk' tour of Dothill and Shawbirch Local Nature Reserve exploring the trees and habitats of this tranquil and diverse setting. The full walk will use the the Wellington Link, once part of the Wellington and Drayton Railway, now a valued footpath and cycle route. The passenger service was withdrawn in 1963, freight service continued until 1967, so many local people remember the line in operation.

Start from Wellington at 10:00 for the full walk, or join us at Admaston Car Park, off Pemberton Road TF5 0BN,  at 10:45 for the shorter tour only.  

Expected finish time in Wellington 13:00, or Admaston 12:15.

Led by Sheila Jones, with Keith Jones and Mike Hughes from The Friends of Dothill and Shawbirch LNR .

Easy 4.5 miles.  3 hours from Wellington,

or easy 1.5 miles.  1.5 hours from Admaston.
